A shovel for your shovels

+

Bedframe is not the thing itself
rather its the thing that helps you make The Thing™

AI is so hot right now. You could even say that it's kicked off a "paradigmatic shift"[1] or that we're seeing quite the "inflection point" or that you personally are literally "in the (AGI) arena" and people wouldn't even look at you funny for leaning too heavily on our belovéd tech parlance; it's mostly true.

You though, you're not content with just "using" AI. You want to benefit, nay, profit from it! If AI is the du jour gold rush, you don't just want to participate, you want to be selling shovels in the frontier. Its not that its beneath you to go into the mines themselves and get real down and dirty in there. Not at all! Its just that, well, its more fun (read: lucrative 💸) given your particular set of skills and interests to be more on the other end of the shoveling narrative, so to speak.

To that end, you want to know (as pertains to Bedframe): How fast can it help you make your shovels and can they be good? Good as in quality, effectiveness, etc etc. all the things that shovel buyers oft require?

The answer to this is: Pretty fast and YES!

Bedframe stands on the shoulders of Vite which promises and delivers on speed, quality, DX, that you will need to then craft the solution your users will enjoy.

You wanna offer a persistent companion in-browser generative ui solution? Create a side panel extension, wire up the requisite AI APIs, git add > git commit > git push!

The Bedframe way of making shovels assures you that when you hang out your shingle in the online frontier towns (AI or other) you know your product is solid, reliable and replicable. you can go to market again and again predictably. In that way, Bedframe is your shovels' shovel.

I was gonna say something like, its your shovels' hovel. A hovel being the outer parts of (I thought) all kilns that protects the inner working parts of the kiln itself. Turns out the hovel is indeed the outer protective part of a kiln, but a very specific old style pottery kiln (a bottle oven) which is actually wildly inefficient!

Ooof! That is not the picture I want to leave you with. You know what they say in programming about trying to be too clever, don't! Anywhooo, there goes my smarty pants analogy.

Nevertheless, you'll understand precisely what I mean when I say, Bedframe is not the thing itself, rather its the thing that helps you make The Thing™

Footnote

  1. "paradigmatic" is one of those annoying English words. It's like bad UX and dark patterns but for language. First, they hit you with the juke on the noun version of it — "paradigm" requires you to ignore the g in it — only to turn around and require it in the word's adjective pronunciation! What evil is this?! it's para-dime and then para-dig-matic‽ C'mon, man!
